topic for tonight.. ANGER..

Okay i don't usually go down this road to much but i wanted to share my thinking on a subject that i well.. was thinking about today. It's so hard not to get angry with stuff. I mean the drivers out here are crazy and i find myself gripping my steering wheel sometimes so i don't swear. lol.. Lilly is constantly doidn what the soon to be three year old does best and that's terrorize her mama.. and while i love being married to my darling husband i can only remind him to shut drawers or clean up after he eats a snack in bed soooo many times before my head might just explode!! So i was listening to k love today and they had a segment about anger on there and i began to do some thinking on it. Seriously who doesn't get angry.. Then i thought well i know anger isn't the bad thing. ITs when you keep the anger and it become bitterness that it's bad. Everyone has heard the saying don't go to bed angry.. well that's from the bible. Ephesians 4:26
"BE ANGRY, AND yet DO NOT SIN; do not let the sun go down on your anger," I try in my marriage to not go to bed angry but it doesn't always happen and then a new day comes and i have to ask forgiveness and make up with allan.
Also i think that i'm not alone in the fact that i do hold on to some things a little longer than i should probably but really anger from the past should be acknowledged. Amends need to be made or you will keep holding on to that same anger. Apologies even for silent anger ( like when you are ticked and cussing out in your head that person in the other lane) should be made. We also need to apologize for not loving people as we should have. There is a scripture about this too.. James 1:19-20[This] you know, my beloved brethren. But let everyone be quick to hear, slow to speak [and] slow to anger for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.
The bible does NOT say NOT TO BE ANGRY. This is an emotion that god put inside us. Jesus himself chased people with a whip when he got mad. I"m pretty sure if i chased someone off with a whip you would know i was pissed and you would probably think i was insane.. lol. So I'm going to try to work on any past anger that i have and i would encourage everyone else to take a look too.
So that was the bible part.. here comes the medical part. lol ive known for a long time that angry people are generally not healthy. Also people that stress too much. STress can do some weird and amazing things in a body but we will save that for another time..

Okay here are some blurbs that i have taken from the web..

There are several types of headaches that can occur arise from anger. Tension headaches generally aren't very well understood, but the common description is that you feel like there is a tight band around your head, or that your head is in a vice grip. Migraine headaches can arise from anger and have very serious symptoms that can debilitate individuals who experience them. Hormone headaches arise from imbalances in hormones that occur, usually in females going through a menstrual cycle and usually accompany fluctuating feelings such as anger and sadness.Read more: http://www.livestrong.com/article/179941-headaches-from-anger/#ixzz0ytqG2InU

A high risk of a heart attack is one of the main health issues caused by anger
It is estimated that there is a 65% higher chance of being a cigarette smoker if you normally experience intense anger such as rage than if you usually experience mild anger, that is irritation. This is due to the fact that smoking cigarettes may somehow help alleviate the stress and anger that one may feel

Researchers from Yale School of Medicine carried out a study that found a link between changes caused by anger or other powerful emotions and potential arrhythmias and sudden cardiac arrests that each year lead to 400,000 deaths.

So lets all live long healthy lives and not be angry anymore.. lol. easier said than done but i'm totally working on it. ;-)

Great post Sarah! Great advice and I think we are all guilty of this 'cause we are all flesh. Wow! Did not know this information. I have a bad habit of getting tension headaches caused by stress and anxiety. Thanks for the info.

Hope y'all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend. Love y'all!

I like this one :) I agree with you, holding on to angry just makes you unhappy. Dealing with the issue then moving on makes life so much better.

Hey, I loved your topic on your blog, and I
added some extra verses at the end that will help you out if you want to further
your study a little. I always love looking at Jesus, and liked that
addition to your post. Jesus had an amazing kind of holy anger,
which none of us can do, because we are sinners. (Adam and
Eve). I always am amazed that he was DYING on the cross, and asked
God to forgive all of us, sinners, because we knew not what we do.
AMAZING! If someone stuck me on a cross, and on my death bed , I
really doubt that would be my last words! Shows how perfect God and
Jesus are. Anyhoo, here are a few more verses about anger that I
thought my interest you, and are an inspiration to me- at the end of
the email.

Another thing I heard yesterday that got me thinking on K-Love, did
you hear the segment where they mentioned how the Devil is always in
a hurry and God never is? Love that. So true. The devil so just so
darn good at sneaking in every crack we give him. I've also loved
the idea that when we are upset about something, to pray in your
heart to God. The Devil hears what we say, but he can't read our
mind! There is also a country song that uses this same idea of the
devil. I dont know the name of it! He uses the littlest things
against us. Something to chew on, they inspired me, maybe they will
you :0)

Love
Liz
